Kelsey Knipe is a screen and stage actress with a passion for all aspects of filmmaking. She has been performing for over 15 years, while studying and working with industry professionals in New York City in several areas of cinema and musical theater. She made her off-Broadway debut at age 12 playing Annie in NSB Productions’ Broadway Good and Evil Cabaret and soon continued on to work in New York, performing for MTI Inc. iTheatrics in the Broadway Jr. debut of Disney’s Beauty and The Beast and Willy Wonka. Other important stage appearances have included Boys From Syracuse at the French Woods Festival and several roles at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown, NY, including her favorite, the Wolf in The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf.
Along with several other workshops, intensives, and classes in acting, singing, and dance, Kelsey has worked and studied heavily with the Broadway Artist’s Alliance and began studying film at the New York Film Academy in 2007. She has continued her passion for cinema in school at Hofstra University (with a minor in drama) and on her own, beginning her first screenplay at 16 and participating in local television and student films before appearing as an extra in Rob Reiner’s feature, The Magic of Belle Isle, while working as a production assistant and locations intern. She expects to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production and Studies in 2015 with a possible BFA in performance as well. Kelsey recently started her own film blog in April 2012 and hopes to begin working on independent films and finish her first screenplay in the near future.
